Busy Fall

Fall is here and we have been blowing around like leaves! There have been a whirlwind of activities - many last times but all moments have been so fun!

Fall Trip to Atlanta - Every fall our youth group goes to an amusement park and a baseball game for the weekend. It is one of the favorite youth trips that we take. This year we went to the Braves game and to Six Flags. This was Meredith's last fall trip...

Jacob and his friends, Stephen & Grant went with us on the trip

Meredith & Chris - They had so much fun in the park. They rode the swings (multiple times), went on the haunted mansion boat ride, and made friends with the park employees. They aren't big on rollercoasters but they love a good photo opp!

This is what you do when you don't ride rollercoasters...

Senior Class at Six Flags

Every year, the Senior class at MHMS gets to take a Friday off and go to the park for their "Senior Picnic".

Meredith in the relay race at the picnic. She was the last member of her team to complete all the tasks and they WON! Each team member got a $5 gift certificate to a restaurant or store.

The following week at school was "Greek Week" or as Meredith likes to call it "Geek Week". The high school is divided into 4 Greek Pillars and throughout the year during pep rallies, assemblies, etc. they compete for pillar points. Meredith's pillar is Poseidon. "Greek Week" is a dress up week complete with themes and pep rallies most every day. This year's theme was good vs. evil.

Meredith as "Miss Congeniality"

This semester Meredith is doing her senior project with the kindergarten classes at MHMS. She loves spending time each day with them!

Meredith has had a great time going with Mary Kate to HHS games and being a part of the war team!

She served ice cream at Maggie Moo's to raise money for yearbook.

Fall Break was our time to visit some college campuses. We went to UT and to Samford. As you can tell from the lack of pictures, Samford is not in the running. She still has UT and Lipscomb as her top choices.

Meredith with Courtney and Carrie - They showed us their cute dorm room and answered our many questions!

High School Girls Retreat - Traditionally, the senior girls plan the high school girls retreat at church. Meredith was part of a group of five girls who planned the retreat all the way from the theme to the Sunday morning worship. Meredith wrote one of the solo devotional times and she designed the T-shirts as well. It was a great weekend!

Our van had to stop to take a picture with the pink elephant!

We went to Drew & Kristy Schreiner's wedding that weekend too. Meredith was so excited to see Barrett & Sam!

Meredith was inducted into the National Honor Society this year. We are so proud of her, she has worked so very hard for this honor!

Sorry for such a long post, I am vowing to do a better job!

Birthday Parties

I know that these posts are so incredibly late. As you will tell from all the pictures, we have been very busy. That is my only excuse...but I will try to do a better job.

Meredith's first birthday party was what she has always called her "Famileey Birthday" party. We were so glad that Jacob, Mason and Michelle could come up and celebrate with us. Mary Kate joined us for the birthday lunch as well.

This is what the present from Grandmommy & Grandaddy use to look like. This was the tradition for awhile. The big bag was always full of clothes and other fun things.

When you get older, your birthday wishes are more expense, so you are reduced to small packages. But as they say, great things come in small packages!

She loves her new camera and many of the pictures on this blog will be from her camera!

This has become a tradition! What can I say...definitely the influence of her Auntie!

YES - I have purse envy!! I was hoping she wasn't going to like it and then the Rudolphs were going to just give it to me for my birthday. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. It is a cute bag for her though.

Labor day weekend, Meredith had her "Friend Party" along with Laurel. The girls have had birthday parties together since they turned 13. I think they have as much fun planning the party. Their friends are so fun and it is always a good time.

Happy 18th Birthday Meredith!

Meredith you are 18 today. Finally, you can buy your own cigarettes! (Haha!) You can go to "R" rated movies, but I wouldn't waste my money if I were you. In November, you will be able cast your vote for the next governor of Tennessee. You can also be called for jury duty. You can enter into a contract and be sued. You can now be tried as an adult so you might want to avoid the long arm of the law!

Meredith - Your dad and I are so proud of you and of the beautiful young lady you have become. We are amazed by your sweet and kind heart - always thinking of others. It is evident to us that you are always striving to live out the two greatest commands. Your love for the Father and for others is undeniable. We love you so much and pray that this will be a very special year for you!

Hope you enjoy these pictures from birthdays past - starting with the day you were born! (I always thought that Alex just wanted to ignore you the day you were born, but now I believe he just didn't want to have to look at me! I blame Michelle - she should have made sure no one took a picture of me that day!! A makeover would have be nice!)
